Kasra Dash: Here at FatRank, we have literally just launched one of our offices out in Dubai. All we are doing now is ORM services, online reputation management for companies, personal brands, people, and business owners. So James, what was the thought process of launching in Dubai?

James Dooley: I am sure people have seen that there are quite a lot of entrepreneurs and business owners that have now started to move over to the entrepreneurial hub of the world, which is Dubai. All these people, because they are entrepreneurial, understand the importance of online reputation management and it just seems the search volume is increasing all the time. We had a lot of customers come through to us that were business owners that wanted ORM services to improve their personal branding, and then a lot of corporate companies based out there that have asked us how we can help in getting them a positive sentiment branding in the Dubai search results. After we have gone from having 20 to 100 clients specifically in Dubai, we thought now is the right time to set up an office out there and go after specifically online reputation management services in Dubai. It is working well, as you well know Kasra. So, what type of ORM services are we looking to offer at FatRank to Dubai companies or Dubai entrepreneurs?

Kasra Dash: The main five I would probably say are online reputation management for actual brands, e-commerce stores, entrepreneurs, startups, and SaaS companies. A lot of SaaS businesses seem to be setting up and one of the biggest things that they need online reputation management for is to get VC funding. The first thing that a venture capitalist will do is search up the brand, see what people are saying online, and if everything is quite negative or there are not many mentions about you, your entire brand is not as valuable as it could be.

James Dooley: You have just touched upon a lot of different sectors who are looking for online reputation management or different ORM services of what we can offer. What I found quite strange is that Dubai specifically seems to do it the best and the most because of how proactive they are. Majority of the online reputation management we do in the UK like Manchester, London, and Birmingham, and with partners in the US, involves reactive work. But in Dubai, what makes them quite unique is they are always doing proactive branding. They are proactively trying to get a positive sentiment. Can you explain to people why proactive ORM services are important?

Kasra Dash: If you start your online reputation management today and you are doing it for two or three years, and then somebody dislikes you in business and tries to post negative things about you online, it is going to be very hard for them to have an impact. In previous scenarios, a lot of people are reactive. They have had something bad published about them and they have not built that moat around their business name or their personal name. If you are not proactive and getting more positive stuff published about you, it is very easy for someone to come and mess up your reputation even if you have not actually done anything wrong. That is why we always recommend being proactive.
