How to grow a renewable energy business? | Fatrank lead generation

James Dooley:
So if I want to generate more enquiries for my renewable energy company what would you recommend.

If you're looking to grow your renewable energy business then I would strongly recommend starting with SEO. Get a website up that ranks in Google and Bing. Get some videos ranking on YouTube as well. Make certain you include all the trust signals. Show your accreditations. Show your testimonials. Show your case studies. Present your worth before you even focus on enquiry generation. If someone lands on your branded website they should instantly think they need to use you.

Obviously there are lots of different types of renewable energy. You’ve got wind turbines, solar, batteries for residential homes, commercial offices, warehouses and factories. Solar is by far the biggest in the UK. You’ve also got tidal and hydro energy. It’s one of the biggest growth areas in the UK and US because of decarbonisation.

I would work out exactly where you make your money. If you’re looking to grow your business you need to decide your focus. Is it wind turbines. Is it solar. Is it tidal. If it’s solar and batteries I would brand myself as the solar expert rather than being broad. I would hit home to Google who we are and what we do. We work with a lot of renewable energy companies within FatRank. We offer a lead generation service which guarantees a return on investment. You don’t pay for leads. You only pay for conversions. But we’re selective. We need to see a professional email. A proper sales team who respond instantly. Strong branding. Accreditations. Awards. Case studies.

I would team up with a lead generation company and do SEO. But I wouldn’t only rely on FatRank. I’d shop around two or three lead generation companies and see who gives the best return on investment. What do you think about PPC. Do you think Google Ads could work.

Kasra Dash:
Yes and no. PPC is super expensive. Renewables is a new space. Not many people are actually searching certain products yet. That means you could be spending money on keywords nobody is looking for. You could end up hiring a PPC agency for the sake of it rather than any real return.

James Dooley:
So if not many people are searching it in Google and you’re not getting the clicks, do you think social media ads could work. Because people aren’t searching on social. It’s more interruption marketing. You could run an ad saying “if you install £15,000 worth of solar panels you could save £1,100 a year” for example.

Kasra Dash:
I’d run awareness ads. And like you said before, have a page built about the product. If you’re the first to have a page on a new service you can rank and maintain the position. Focus on SEO as well.

James Dooley:
Renewable energy evolves constantly. This is one niche where I think traditional marketing could work. There are lots of grants available in certain areas. If you’re in Liverpool or Manchester certain councils offer grants for commercial or residential solar. People don’t know about it. A billboard saying “did you know you can get 70 percent rebate on solar panels” could work. What was £15,000 could now cost £6,000 with a £9,000 grant.

Kasra Dash:
Traditional ads could work if you target the right audience. For example a council business magazine. But Facebook allows you to set a radius around Manchester and target business owners directly. You can run the same awareness message but far more precise compared to a billboard on the M6.

James Dooley:
So we hope you like the tips on how to grow your renewable energy company. The major two plays for me are SEO for branding and reputation management and teaming up with a lead generation company like FatRank. If you qualify it’s a guaranteed return on investment because you only pay on converted leads. Get in touch and see whether your renewable energy company could grow using the model.
